Keep Your Mind Set

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.” – Isaiah 26: 3 & 4

It’s typically easy to wake up with a song in your heart and hope for the day, but what about when you lay down at night? You got that bill in the mail you don’t know how you are going to pay. Your co-worker tap danced on your last nerve. Your kids are Out.Of.Control. All the things you didn’t get done that day run through your head. If we’re not careful? It’s easy to end the day self-absorbed, anxious and discouraged instead of with a grateful heart. One way to combat that? Get yourself a journal. (Seriously. Do it. They are $1 at the Dollar Store) End of day, before you go to bed, take 5 minutes and quickly jot down what you’re grateful for that happened that day. Some days may be hard to come up with that first thing. Other days? You could write for an hour. It’s not meant to be a literary work of art. Not even a journal entry that will mean anything to anyone else. This is just for you! Just a few “ticklers” to help you keep your mind set. Your mood? Your journey? It’s 10% what happens to you and 90% your attitude. It’s what you give your focus to. Focus on the good! Don’t even let the battlefield of your mind get started. Before noon today I already had a half page! What an amazing church service – and look at that sun!  This girl needs the sun!! Yes, I’ve got some hidden struggles. But I’m choosing to believe God’s already worked those out. I’ve prayed. I’ve asked. I’ve done my part.  Now? I go enjoy the sun!!

Be blessed my friends and stay focused on the things above!

Love,

Kris
