On Palm Sunday Jesus rode through town and they cheered for their King. On Friday they were yelling “Crucify Him!” On the 3rd day? He defeated death and rose from the dead in power and glory. (And they found the stone, rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.  Luke 24: 2-3)

The United States of America was founded on “In God We Trust”. Our founding fathers prayed, read their bibles, knew that the Lord was blessing them as they forged a mighty and powerful nation. (Palm Sunday)

In stark contrast, we started calling what was good evil and evil good. (Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.. Isaiah 5:20) And it stopped being about “United we Stand” but rather “What about me?!?” (But understand this, that in the last days, there will come times of difficulty. People will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, heartless, unholy, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Pilate didn’t want Jesus’s blood on his hands so he released him to the people. Sounds reminiscent of the leadership in our country becoming “Politically correct” instead of standing for the truth. Pilate was never really in control but merely a pawn in the hand of God. So is our leadership. Our hope doesn’t come from a donkey or an elephant. Our hope comes from a Lamb.

We took prayer out of schools (Crucify Him!) We didn’t want to say “Merry Christmas” because we may offend someone (Crucify Him!) We decided the 10 Commandments should not be displayed. (Crucify Him!) We have managed to raise a generation that doesn’t know Jesus. Who don’t see the words “Thou shalt not kill, steal or lie.” We have successfully crucified our King.

The parallel will continue… That 3rd day is coming! Just like he rose from the dead – he’s going to return.

“Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever believes and lives in me will never die.” – John 11:25-26
