Much Is Required…

43323600b4434db8afa123a643a0f498[1]I’m gonna be honest, I’ve always struggled with discipline (or should I say a lack of it).  Exercising, latest craft, etc., etc.  I felt like I was good at a lot of things, but not really committed to any one thing long enough to be really good at it.  And then?  I met Jesus.  I got ahold of faith – real childlike faith – it moved mountains and transformed my life.  I went from a medical folder 3 inches thick to never going to the doctor.  Anxiety, fear, depression?  Gone.  I went from a lack of self-confidence and self-worth to a humble, bold assurance of who I am in Christ.  I started to recognize the design he had for me long ago.  I saw prayers answered when I spoke the word.  I’ve had Jabez moments – those “divine appointments”.
Like God often does, he’ll send a pastor to speak just what you need to hear, when you need to hear it.  Pastor Lawrence was speaking on “discipline” and I wrote down this statement 2 years ago, put it on a white board, and it’s still there.  Still a reminder.  Maybe it will help you to hear it today?

“If you want power they don’t have?  You have to do things they don’t do.”

I asked myself – What does that look like for me?  And this is what I wrote underneath that quote…
Serve with your WHOLE heart!
– Have you read the word today?
– Have you prayed today?
– Have you reached out to show love to someone else today?
-Have you used your gift today? (Wrote, blogged, encouraged)
-Did you eat healthy today?
-Did you exercise today?
-Did you strengthen relationships today?
-Did you resist temptation today?

STAY FOCUSED!  Don’t forget the promises hidden in your heart.

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded, and from the one who has been entrusted with much more will be asked.” – Luke 12:48

What are you doing with the gifts God has given you?
“A spiritual gift is given to teach of us so we can help each other.”
