What a “Monday/Thursday! Mid-week holidays are tough! But as I sat down for lunch at my desk, I found myself grateful once again for our freedom that we celebrated yesterday as “one nation, under God, indivisible, for liberty and justice for all”. For the fact I can pull out my bible at lunch and read without fear of persecution or arrest (at least for now). Made me grateful for our forefathers who founded this country on faith in God and the bible. (It’s on our money, etched in stone in our gov’t. buildings) and grateful for the men and women who have died to preserve those freedoms.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.” – Psalm 33:12
And then my mind wandered to the fact we have removed prayer from school, taking down the 10 commandments in public places so as not to “offend” … makes one wonder… How much longer until I will no longer be able to read my bible at work? Makes me sad that it’s not an outside country providing the biggest threat, but that we are self destructing from within… The Lord knew we would.
Let’s look at 1 John 2:18 where we read “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.”
We keep waiting for this one big, obviously bad man with a 666 tattooed on his forehead to show up on the scene. The truth is? This “Anti-Christ spirit” is already here… it removed prayer from school, it promotes sex and violence and anything else that is “unlike Christ” or “Anti-Christ”.
On a happier note? In case you were wondering? It’s a spicy chicken sandwich in the bag. And Chik Fil A? They publically declare their faith. They are closed on Sunday’s so their employees can worship with their families. And while the rest of the world is fearing being closed on Sunday? The Lord has blessed Chik Fil A for standing firm. Every time I go to Chik Fil A – no matter what day or time – there is a double line wrapped around the building. If our country got back to it’s roots of faith in God? We may just see the same blessings start to fall on our nation. We all have a voice. Lift it up in prayer for the freedom this country was founded on.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land..” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
