Been There. Done That. Bought the T-Shirt… and the coffee mug…

20181221_161133“Been there. Done that. Bought the T-Shirt.”  That quote came to mind as I was pondering all the “faith based” items I saw for sale in secular stores over the holidays. There were so many t-shirts with bible verses or the words “faith” and “hope”. Coffee mugs and pictures with scripture, or promoting prayer, that were selling like hot cakes. What this tells me? Although we took God out of our schools, stores and any place someone may be “offended” – We have a generation wanting answers. A generation that is full of fear, anxiety and doubt. A generation being swept away by drug addiction and suicide.  A generation that though they’ve likely never heard of Him? They inherently know in their heart that there is hope and his name is Jesus. They know there are a multitude of people witnessing to the power of the cross and they want that healing. A generation ready to rise up because they are tired of living in the mess that sin has made.

I believe the quote “Been there. Done that. Bought the t-shirt.” came to mind because there are people out there hungry for hope and peace of mind and it’s not going to come from buying a sign, coffee mug or t-shirt with scripture on it. The only way to find that peace is to have been there and done that. To have been on your knees broken before God and accepting Jesus into your heart and life. In letting Jesus fill those broken places with His peace, love and joy and having a personal relationship with him. In knowing that no matter what tomorrow holds? You know who holds tomorrow!

If you’ve bought the t-shirt but haven’t been there and done that? 2019 is the time! Start your year off by seeking the One who can bring you the peace of mind and heart you are longing for in 2019. I promise. It’s a game changer.

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a strong mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:
